Add a Page to your Website Baker Site

Adding pages is easy with Website Baker. Here's how.

You can add pages to your site by filling in the Title field, then using the drop-down menus to choose page options.Click add and you have a new page.

Add page dialog box

"Figure 5." - The Add Page control panel

What the different fields mean:

Field Description

Title: This is the title of your new page. It will show up both in the Pages control panel and on your site navigation menu on the finished page.

Type: Specify the type of web page you want here. There are 9 types.

  1. WYSIWYG – This is your standard web page, to which you can add both text and images. In addition, you will be able to edit the page with a Word like page editor.
  2. Code – Want to add PHP to your page? This is the option.
  3. Form – A built in form editor that will email you the contents of the form.
  4. Menu Link – This doesn't actually create a page. It provides a menu link to either an external page or one on your site.
  5. News – Create a page that you can add articles to.
  6. Wrapper – Create a page that contains an iframe, in which you can include contents of another page.
  7. Image Gallery – A photo gallery. An add-on module.
  8. Guestbook – Another add on.
  9. Sitemap – Create a site map for your visitor's benefit. This is also an add-on module.

Parent: Specify here if a page is to be subordinate to an existing page.

Visibility: Specify if the page is to be:

  1. Public –Anyone can see it.
  2. Private – Only you can see the page.
  3. Registered – Only registered visitors may view it.
  4. Hidden – Only visible from the administration side.
  5. None – The page is not hidden but it is not created on the server.

Administrators: Specify who may work on the page.

Add: Click this button to create your new page.

Reset: Clear all entered values and start over.

If you entered all your data and created a new page, you should see the following screen. The image is for a WYSIWYG example.

Text area

"Fig 6." A new WYSIWYG type page.

As you can see we have a page editor that looks a bit similar to Word, ready for your content. To the right of "Current Page" you will see the page title, in this example it is Sample Page. To the right of that are two more links that allow you to Change setting and Manage Sections. More on that later. Under the heading "Modify Page" you will find the page editor.
